Few things are so beautiful as Bali, and my senses are pulled in many directions — to the people, to the offerings, to the land — and I am reminded that I live in an amazing Hindu enclave nestled within this looming Asian giant. Halfway around the world lies the Berkshires. Another lovely land, I’m told. With undisturbed woodlands and rolling pastures, and with an eclectic community that swells in the summertime, this is where we’re planting our banyan tree. And this is my journey, my thoughts, your thoughts, as I chart my path from Indonesia back to my homeland, after more than a dozen years abroad, to a place called the Berkshires, where I’ve never been before.
